The twins are back!

 Things continue turbulent in the second film about the world’s most famous twins! After part one attracted a million cinema-goers, UFA Cinema is now shooting a new and exciting adventure at Lindenhof boarding school (St. Clare’s in the original English). 

The legendary twins are once again played by audience darlings Sophia and Jana Münster, who won a 2010 Bambi award in the 'talent' category for their performances as Hanni and Nanni.

In the new film, the twins and their friends are supported once more by a first-class adult cast. This time Hannelore Elsner, Katharina Thalbach and Suzanne von Borsody play the roles of the headmistress Mrs. Theobald, the funny, kind Mademoiselle  Bertoux, and bad-tempered Mrs Mägerlein once more. Heino Ferch and Anja Kling are back as the compassionate and dedicated parents Jules and George Sullivan. In addition, Barbara Schöneberger plays the career woman Daphne, and Carolin Kebekus stirs up the cast with a powerful performance as the shady teacher Mrs. Goethe.

Storyline:

The summer holidays are over and the twins Hanni and Nanni were really looking forward to returning to their ‘Lindenhof’. But when they arrive there is already a lot going on: Mrs. Theobald has to go away on a trip and to the chagrin of Mrs. Mägerlein hands the management of the school to the lovable, but very chaotic French teacher Madame Bertoux. She soon seems overwhelmed by the task – the budget is tight and she must simultaneously care for her nephew Philippe who is visiting the girls' boarding school for two weeks. But he is not the only exciting new addition: it is rumoured that a real princess will be among the year’s newcomers, but must remain completely anonymous. Lilly, the twins’ annoying cousin, who to the girls’ disappointment arrived at Lindenhof at the start at the new school year, immediately tries to discover the identity of the princess in order to ingratiate herself with her. Nanni, however, has other worries: she is plagued by the terrible fear that their parents are in the throes of a marital crisis. The parents are trying by all means to prevent the twins noticing their problems. But why has their father George moved into the hotel, and then suddenly surfaced as an assistant chef at the boarding school?A turbulent and exciting school year awaits Hanni, Nanni and their friends at Lindenhof!

HANNI & NANNI 2 is a UFA Cinema co-production with Feine Filme and ZDF, funded by the FilmFernsehFond Bayern (Bavarian Film Television Fund), the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the German Film Board (FFA) and the German Film Promotion Fund (DFF).

The executive producers are Nico Hofmann and Jürgen Schuster for UFA Cinema and Hermann Florin for Feine Filme. Gesa Tönnesen is the producer, with Sebastian Werninger as line producer.

Julia von Heinz will direct HANNI & NANNI 2. The screenplay was written by Jane Ainscough and Christoph Silber, who provide the basis for a magical film that will attract different generations to the cinema with fun, excitement and very emotional stories, offering them a wonderful movie experience together.
